An age statement can’t taste the whiskey for you.
Larry and Susie have loved young whiskeys and passed on old ones. They’ve had the reverse experience, too. Years in a barrel tell part of the story; warehouse conditions and other decisions add their own chapters.

I've had incredible four, five, six-year-old whiskeys and I've had horrible 15-plus-year-old whiskeys. I've also had excellent 14-, 15-plus-year-old whiskeys and I've had horrible four-year-old whiskeys. Older whiskey, if it's aged in the right area of the warehouse or into the barrel at the right proof, can also be good. I think that we don't go in with preconceived notions when it comes to age. We just want to have an open mind and give it a chance and then also pay attention to where it's from and what it is, and highlight the best of what that distillery has to offer.
