“We definitely turn down more than we buy.”
Larry and Susie taste every week, trying as many barrels as they can. What they don’t have, Larry explains, is a requirement to come back with ten of them. Passing is part of the work.
That freedom matters. Larry wants a bottle of Old Treasure to come from a barrel he fell in love with. The selection starts there, with the whiskey itself and a reason to put it in someone else’s glass.

We definitely turn down more than we buy. So Old Treasure is in a unique position because of how we're picking barrels. We don't have a board, it's myself and Susie pick barrels out. We taste every week and we taste as many as we can get our hands on, but at the end of week, we're not told we have to come up with 10 barrels that we need to get into our shop to fulfill any kind of quotas. So we can be pickier that way, If you ever get the chance to try a bottle of Old Treasure, that is a barrel that I loved that I fell in love with, there'll never be a barrel that I just had to get out.
